A Modern German City
Berlin was a modern metropolitan city that served as the 4th stop on our Euro Trip. The Hostel we stated at was fight down in the financial district so the architecture was more modern than our previous stops. One of the more modern building we visited was the BMW factory. The factory was a little ways outside so we had to take the subway there. when we got off the train we were greeted by a metal grey, building with curved glass that looked somewhat like a space ship. We toured the factory and saw all different generations of the car company from original racing bike to the newest sports cars they make. My parents have always driven BMW’s so it was fun to see where they were made.
The Wall
After the BMW factory tour we headed to visit the Famous Berlin wall. The wall was knocked down at the end of the war and has sense served as a marker of peace for the country. The wall was beautifully painted with different street are but local artists. Each artist was given a specific section of the wall to paint in any style the liked so they wall was a collage. It was interesting to see a wall that once represented darkness to be filled with such color.
Berlin Night Life
Berlin is know for its underground techno music scene so one night we decided to go out and experience it with some people we met from our hostel. The bar crawl started from out hostel at 10:00 took us to a few popular clubs throughout the city. We had so much fun and met some great people from different countries. At Each bar we went to, our group grew. We took the subway to the last club of the night and we all packed an entire train car. That train car was its own party. At one point the whole group joined in singing the Queen “We Will Rock You”. The night was one for the books.
