The Architecture that was lasted hundreds of years can bring your imagination back to different times in history. Perhaps the most famous structure that still stands is the Colosseum. This ancient stadium has undertaken much damage from the war, but travelers are still able to go inside to explore a place that was one of ancients Romes favorite place for its people to gather. Walking though the columns and arches that stood for hundreds of years gave me chills. To be standing inside such an iconic landmark was a true honor and something to check off my bucket list.
The Land of My Ancestors
My Dads family is from a small town about an hour outside of Rome. Italy was a place that I had visited numerous times growing up. Most of his family Still live in Torrice, but my causing Marcello lived in Rome and works in the Vatican Hospital. Marcello is always out tour guide when we visit, showing us the locals perspective of the beautiful city. We have explored all inside St. Patricks Cathedral and even we able to attend the Pope’s Christmas mass. The music was so peaceful and our seats were about 10 rows away from the Pope. That mass was one of the most beautiful ceremonies I have been apart of, a once in a lifetime experience.
Motor Scooters are a populate mode of transportation in this busy city as traffic can be congested. One of my fondest memories of my trips heres was riding around the back of Marcello’s motorcycle at night. Rome is so beautifully lit up at night. All of the ruins and landmarks have accent lighting that offer a great view at night. To see all of these on the back of a motorcycle with the wind in my face was such a fun was to explore the city.
